Description Laboratory Technician Pilgrim's | Pittsburg, TX Resume Required Position Summary Pilgrim’s is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support food safety and quality programs at our Pittsburg, TX facility. This role is responsible for microbiological and pathogen testing, media preparation, chemical testing support, laboratory documentation, and adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). The ideal candidate will be organized, safety-focused, and committed to maintaining accurate laboratory results. Essential Responsibilities Perform microbiological plating and pathogen testing on product and environmental samples. Prepare samples, media, dilutions, and slurries according to company procedures. Read and record test results using 3M Petrifilm Reader or visual counts. Operate autoclave equipment for media preparation, sterilization, and waste disposal. Maintain accurate laboratory records and report positive findings to management. Ensure proper sanitation, labeling, and storage of samples and media. Assist with chemical testing, shelf-life studies, bio-mapping projects, and other special assignments. Monitor laboratory inventory and notify appropriate personnel when supplies are needed. Follow all safety procedures, GLP requirements, and laboratory policies. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous laboratory, food safety, quality assurance, or manufacturing experience preferred. Strong attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to follow laboratory procedures and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills required. Why Work forPilgrim’s?
