Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Laboratory Technician Assistant 1 (LTA 1) to join the team.

Schedule

Full-time evening shift, Monday–Friday, every other weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately manage specimen preparation steps, storage, and packaging for transport according to lab protocols to preserve specimen integrity and quality
  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with coworkers, physicians, physician office staff, care facility staff, and government facility staff to optimize job performance and foster working relationships
  • Perform patient registration, billing, and test order procedures accurately to ensure correct testing, reporting, billing, and regulatory compliance
  • Perform proper and timely specimen collection, including confirming patient identity, collecting specimens in proper tubes, utilizing venipuncture/capillary techniques, and accurately labeling specimens
  • Provide excellent patient and customer service using AIDET principles, ensuring correctness and quality of technical information and directions provided

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • No prior experience required
  • Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lab experience
