Laboratory Technical Associate

This position supports laboratory operations by promoting a staff member into a technical role. Responsibilities include internal specimen processing, shipping specimens for external testing, performing some specimen testing based on complexity, maintaining inventory, and ensuring equipment and supplies are clean and functional according to protocols.

Responsibilities

• Process internal specimens and ship specimens for external testing.
• Perform specimen testing depending on complexity.
• Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure equipment and supplies are clean and in working order.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry).
• Three years of prior laboratory experience preferred.
• Required to obtain ASCP certification within two years of hire.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks.
• High discretion in handling confidential materials.

Pay

$21.96 - $31.99 hourly.
