Laboratory Technical Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Laboratory Technical Assistant to support our Lead Scientists and Technology Leaders in a dynamic laboratory environment. In this role, you will help execute experimental activities and support product development by following established protocols. Your work will contribute directly to innovative research, development, and commercialization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of chemists and engineers to develop, test, and commercialize new products and processes.
  • Safely manage and execute laboratory work requests, including setup, operation, and documentation of experiments using a variety of standard laboratory apparatus and testing equipment.
  • Accurately record data, observations, and results using proper documentation methods, ensuring reliability and traceability.
  • Calibrate, operate, and conduct routine maintenance for laboratory instruments and machinery. Troubleshoot and address equipment issues, notifying or coordinating repairs as necessary.
  • Manage inventories by monitoring, ordering, and restocking laboratory consumables, chemicals, and supplies, maintaining alignment with usage rates and purchasing protocols.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with Technology Leaders and Lead Scientists to identify and resolve issues, supporting efficient problem-solving and workflow.
  • Actively participate in team meetings to discuss safety, process improvements, and collaborative problem-solving and to support the continuous improvement of laboratory operations.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures and safety protocols is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for laboratory equipment and willingness to learn routine maintenance tasks.

Education And Experience

  • A High School diploma (or equivalent) and 3 years of laboratory experience required.
  • Ages with an Associates Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or similar technology related area + relevant work experience preferred.
