Laboratory Support Technician

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, measuring instruments, and operational instructions to provide support for testing activities.
• Evaluates laboratory support activity results and may review data for conformance with specifications.
• Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.
• Responds to user requests to repair and/or modify existing laboratory instrumentation, automated systems and test fixtures.
• Records observed or calculated data on appropriate UL forms as the record of laboratory support activities.
• Plans laboratory support activities, and evaluates results, as directed.
• Performs routine maintenance on existing laboratory instrumentation, automated systems and test fixtures using established procedures.
• Ensures both new and existing test systems meet safety requirements and comply with local laws.
• Designs and builds test fixtures.
• Reads and follows the UL Standards of Business Conduct and adheres to all physical and digital security practices.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in laboratory equipment maintenance, manufacturing equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or similar.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Welding experience is preferred.

• Total Rewards: Estimated salary range for this position is $60,000-67,000, based on job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and other factors.
