Laboratory Support Technician 1

Location: Hampton, VA

Overview

Sentara Health is hiring a laboratory support technician to work full‑time days in the Clinical Lab at Sentara CarePlex Hospital. The role supports laboratory operations by preparing specimens and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens per discipline operating procedure for result/interpretation by technical staff.
• Perform instrument maintenance and inventory functions per operating procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical technology (required).
• No certification or licensure required.

Schedule

First (Days) shift – Monday through Friday, 08:00 – 16:30.

Pay

Base pay range for full‑time employment is $19.96 – $29.25 hourly. Additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
