Laboratory Supervisor I

About the Role

The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Laboratory staff and workflow to meet Customer and Regulatory requirements. This position will supervise the Bioburden Department.

Responsibilities

• Supervises workflow and technical staff in execution of Laboratory testing, in support of regulatory and quality system compliance to meet Customer specifications (50-70%)
• Mentors and develops staff for future opportunities (10-20%)
• Provides regular feedback to staff on performance (5%)
• Ensures purchasing of laboratory supplies meets departmental needs and approves purchase requisitions (5%)
• Identifies operational opportunities for improvement to efficiency, quality, and/or cost (5-10%)
• Participates in the interview process for open positions and makes recommendations for hiring (1-5%)
• Evaluates procedures and executes Document Change Orders (1-5%)
• Initiates and executes Quality System Investigations, Customer Dissatisfactions, and Corrective actions as required by procedure (5%)

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical field
• Minimum 5 years experience in a Laboratory
• Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership role

Pay

Pay range for this opportunity is $74,000 - $77,000 depending on experience and skillset. This position is eligible for bonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, and foreign language fluency.
