Laboratory Supervisor

About the role

The Laboratory Supervisor oversees technical and/or non-technical laboratory personnel and daily operations in assigned areas/shifts to achieve organization and regulatory requirements.

Functional areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to, technical discipline areas in which the department is licensed, specimen collection, specimen processing, and specimen referral testing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personnel, processes, service levels, regulatory compliance, and service levels in assigned areas.
• Perform technical and non-technical duties in assigned areas of responsibility as required.
• Achieve department goals for service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, personnel management, patient satisfaction, healthy work environment, and integration of intra- and inter-departmental activities.

Requirements

• Current State of Tennessee Medical Laboratory Supervisor General License required.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Medical Technologist.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Licensure in 3 technical specialty areas preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with co-workers, staff, patients, patient families, and vendors.
• Proficient computer skills, including ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and other programs for creating reports.
• Medi-tech experience preferred.

About the facility

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center proudly serves Rutherford County, Tennessee.
