Responsibilities
- Ensures laboratory testing services are conducted safely and consistently with company quality protocols and project requirements.
- Oversees or coordinates the training and utilization of laboratory staff.
- Oversees or coordinates the maintenance and cleanliness of the laboratory and testing equipment.
- Provides supplemental operating policies and procedures unique to the laboratory.
- Assists Department Management during proposal and cost estimate preparation for laboratory testing services.
- Safeguards laboratory personnel's personal safety through proper training, supervision, and equipment provision.
- Supervises or monitors laboratory activities to ensure compliance with client and project requirements.
- Evaluates laboratory personnel's performance and assists in their professional development.
- Safeguards laboratory facilities and equipment, making requests for additional resources as needed.
- Maintains laboratory equipment calibration and ensures its proper functioning.
- Maintains the laboratory area's cleanliness and organization.
- Directs short-range business development activities and prepares reports and proposals.
- Supervises administrative systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Enforces company administrative policies and promotes continuous quality monitoring and improvement.
- Performs construction and geotechnical related laboratory testing.
- Understands and manages project-related risks, promoting safety and quality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience performing laboratory tests on construction and geotechnical materials.
- Certification by qualified national, regional, or state authorities (ACI, NICET, DOT) or in-house certification in relevant areas.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
Qualifications
- Lead safety efforts and promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects.
- Develop understanding of project-related risks and promote safety practices.
- Engage with APRs on projects at their onset.
Skills
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to manage laboratory operations efficiently.
- Knowledge of construction and geotechnical materials testing.
- Experience in maintaining laboratory equipment and facilities.
- Proficiency in quality assurance and risk management.
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $56,500 - $79,200.
