Laboratory Specialist - Nursing and Public Health
About the role
Manages classroom and simulation laboratory preparation to ensure proper setup of equipment and availability of supplies for nursing instructional laboratories; collaborates with faculty on the development and implementation of laboratory and simulation learning activities; provides technical assistance to nursing faculty and students, including preparation and maintenance of simulation equipment, task trainers, clinical supplies, and instructional technologies; assists faculty during laboratory and simulation experiences; orders supplies needed for teaching; works to ensure departmental compliance with safety and infection prevention protocols; keeps records and cares for departmental assets; and supervises student employees.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in nursing, biology, health sciences, or a related field
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, technology, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, biology, health sciences, or a related field
- Current healthcare certification or licensure (e.g., RN, LPN, EMT, Paramedic, Medical Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technician, or similar)
- Experience in patient care, nursing skills laboratories, simulation, or healthcare education
- Experience with simulation technologies, instructional equipment, electronic health record systems, audiovisual technologies, and inventory management
Pay
$24.04 to commensurate; Pay Grade: 118; Pay Basis: Hourly; FLSA Status: Non-Exempt; position is eligible for overtime or comp time.
