Laboratory Services Director

About the Role

Manages all clinical lab operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and provides medical or scientific leadership. Oversees testing accuracy, manages budgets and staff, and consults with doctors on patient results.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily testing workflows, quality control (QC), and proficiency testing to ensure fast, accurate results.
• Maintain adherence to CLIA and hospital accreditation standards, correcting any inspection deficiencies.
• Hire, train, and supervise qualified technical staff and supervisors.
• Advise physicians and medical staff on interpreting complex test results and selecting proper diagnostic procedures.
• Manage departmental budgets, equipment acquisition, and validation of new testing methods.
