Job Information

Job Summary: Math teachers at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools are responsible for developing and executing engaging math lessons, creating an environment where students can think critically and independently. They are also responsible for curriculum development, student supervision, and maintaining up-to-date teaching methods.

Responsibilities: The Math Department oversees math education for students in grades 6-12. Courses include Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Discrete Math, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. Teachers must adhere to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and work 179 days or as stipulated in that agreement. The anticipated start date is August 31, 2026, and this is a 25% position.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Education, Experience, or Certifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Math or related fields required
    • Advanced degree preferred
    • Two years of teaching experience required
    • Experience teaching high school math strongly preferred
    • Experience developing curriculum strongly preferred

Pay Range

$18,717 - $41,661.25
