Laboratory Samples Reception Associate

About the role

This position supports the US & LATAM operations through specimen reception and inspection, data entry into the reporting system, recording incidences, managing consumables, and assembling kit components.

Location: Miami, FL (On-site only).

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and procedures.
• Assemble and/or disassemble kit trays and materials as needed.
• Clean and maintain the sample receiving area so that it can function in a neat and orderly manner.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance, correct the problems, and document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
• Provide assistance to the Laboratory Technologists as needed.
• Handle documentation requirements and ensure accuracy by proof-reading company documentation prior to registering data in the software.
• Outsource and oversee the sample reception area.
• Provide administrative support to the laboratory team.
• Enter and update client data using the proper software.
• Register non-conformities related to pre-analytical steps.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in related fields is preferred.
• More than 1 year of experience in the same or similar role in a laboratory.
