Laboratory Research Manager

About the role

Responsible for management of an ancient DNA and modern genomics laboratory at the Laboratories of Molecular Anthropology and Microbiome Research (LMAMR).

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment
• Implements laboratory safety procedures
• Contributes to training students and staff
• Maintains laboratory records
• Conducts miscellaneous administrative duties

Requirements

• Master's Degree in a Biological Science, Chemistry, or Physical Science or related field
• 60 months experience working in a basic science research facility/laboratory
• 24 months experience as a senior-level supervisor and/or leadership role in a research laboratory

Qualifications

• Will accept a Bachelor's Degree in a Biological Science, Chemistry or Physical Science and 24 months related experience in lieu of the Master's Degree for a total of 84 months experience.
• Experience with ancient biomolecules preferred but not required.
• Familiarity working in a clean room in PPE.

Targeted salary: $72,500 annually, based on experience
