Essential Job Functions
- Contributes to basic and applied research activities.
- Performs a variety of tests requiring a high degree of proficiency, makes detailed observations, analyzes data, and interprets results.
- Troubleshoots problems and recommends solutions.
- Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
- May participate in the publication of significant results.
- Advances expertise through education, training, and/or research experience.
- Performs other job duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements
- Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge Principles and practices of laboratory research and scientific methodology.
- Laboratory safety procedures, chemical handling, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Research protocols, data collection techniques, and record-keeping standards.
- Basic statistical concepts and research data analysis methods.
- Operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Skills:
- Performing laboratory tests, experiments, and sample preparation accurately.
- Collecting, recording, organizing, and analyzing research data.
- Maintaining detailed laboratory records and documentation.
- Operating laboratory equipment and troubleshooting routine issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and research-related software/databases.
- Time management and prioritization of multiple research activities.
- Written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with research teams.
- Abilities:
- Ability to follow detailed research protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
- Ability to analyze data and identify inconsistencies or trends.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of research data and sensitive information.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, researchers, students, and staff.
Physical Requirements
- Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.
- Speech Clarity - Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand you.
- Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
- May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, mobile devices, and computer keyboards.
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree Major (if Required)
Required Experience
- Two (2) to five (5) years of related experience.
