Laboratory Manager

About the role

Manages three laboratory sites, overseeing professional and support staff, with authority to hire, fire, and promote. The role involves evaluating and improving department processes while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws and regulations, exercising greater discretion and financial authority than lower‑level managers. It includes leading initiatives, strategic priorities, and programs that impact the organization, supporting the budget process, and collaborating with leadership to meet operational goals.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, facilitate, monitor, and evaluate department activities and functions based on employee and organizational goals.
• Collaborate with leaders to establish operating procedures and enhance clinical/non‑clinical workflows.
• Increase productivity and improve overall quality outcomes and operational efficiencies across various delivery settings.
• Manage initiatives, strategic priorities, and programs that affect the organization.
• Work independently and with leadership to support the budget process and achieve key operational goals.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or relevant work experience.
• Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience.
• Licensure/Certification: State licensure and/or professional certification as required by position; current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider) is required.
