About the Role
Drives a vehicle to pick up, deliver, and properly store specimens and other materials. Establishes rapport with clients through timely service and a willingness to answer basic and/or account-related questions while on site for pick-up or delivery. Follows proper procedures in conjunction with established quality control requirements.
Responsibilities
- Transports specimens and other materials to various client offices and laboratory sites via automobile.*
- Maintains a log of items received and delivered through the tracking system.*
- Services vehicle driven, such as checking fluid levels and replenishing fuel.*
- Communicates effectively with internal and external customers. Refers vehicle service issues to management.*
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and specimen information.*
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Participates in meetings, committees, and department projects as assigned.
- Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license required. Verification and maintenance of responsible driving record per facility standards required.
Skills
- Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform crucial conversations with desired outcomes.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff.
