Laboratory Courier

About the Role

Drives a vehicle to pick up, deliver, and properly store specimens and other materials. Establishes rapport with clients through timely service and a willingness to answer basic and/or account-related questions while on site for pick-up or delivery. Follows proper procedures in conjunction with established quality control requirements.

Responsibilities

• Transports specimens and other materials to various client offices and laboratory sites via automobile.*
• Maintains a log of items received and delivered through the tracking system.*
• Services vehicle driven, such as checking fluid levels and replenishing fuel.*
• Communicates effectively with internal and external customers. Refers vehicle service issues to management.*
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and specimen information.*
• Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
• Participates in meetings, committees, and department projects as assigned.
• Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required. Verification and maintenance of responsible driving record per facility standards required.
