A top-tier global pharma leader in Emeryville, CA is seeking a Compound Management Research Scientist II to support day-to-day automated laboratory operations, equipment troubleshooting, and custom compound fulfillment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Support daily compound-handling workflows, including order fulfillment, sample distribution, equipment validation, and lab supply management.
- Perform manual weighing, powder transfers, automated compound dissolution, and preparation of assay-ready plates using liquid-handling systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting automation equipment, operational challenges, and logistical matters.
- Collaborate proactively with cross-functional internal teams and external research partners to deliver precise compound formats on time.
- Maintain high quality control standards while managing multiple parallel research tasks and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline with 2+ years of experience in automated lab operations within a biotech/pharma setting (or 8+ years of direct compound management experience).
- Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting laboratory automation and liquid-handling platforms (e.g., Tecan, Agilent, Hamilton) and automated storage systems (e.g., TTP Labtech).
- Practical understanding of compound management workflows, inventory control, powder storage, and solution preparation.
- Strong time-management, observational, and communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Qualifications
- Prior experience handling small molecules, dissolving compounds, and preparing assay-ready plates for biological testing.
- Specialized expertise troubleshooting Agilent and Tecan workstations.
