About the role
We are hiring for a Laboratory Assistant position at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK. Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, 8-hr Day shifts, 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Provides efficient, accurate, and courteous service for PAMC patients or Nursing Home Clients.
- Provides accurate and timely collection and receiving of specimens for all patients in accordance with medical center and laboratory policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations.
- Performs bedside tests (bleeding times) as requested.
- Accurately enters data into hospital and laboratory computer systems related to patient billing and charting.
- Performs processing functions to assure integrity of specimens for testing.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- 2 years Phlebotomy experience or one year phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting.
- Less than one year experience will be considered for PAMC Lab employees of six months or greater with approval from Director.
