Laboratory Assistant - Pre-Analytics - Full Time Night Shift

About the role

The Laboratory Assistant provides essential support in blood sample collection, specimen preservation, and processing to ensure specimen integrity.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture or capillary collections
• Screen specimens according to guidelines
• Deliver blood products and surgical specimens
• Handle laboratory inquiries
• Communicate professionally with patients, staff, and referral labs
• Adhere to hospital policies and participate in quality improvement
• Perform additional clerical and clinical duties as assigned to meet departmental needs

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Specialized phlebotomy training
• At least one year of phlebotomy experience, preferably in an acute care setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Valid CPT certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior acute care phlebotomy experience

Licenses

• CPT certification
• Fire Life Safety Training (if applicable)

Pay

$23.00 – $39.10 per hour
