Laboratory Technician – Parasitology Research Contract: 1 year contract with conversion potential Benefits: Medical, Dental, Holiday, PTO 401K matching Location: Athens GA Support daily laboratory operations Parasitology Research team, including insect rearing, lab maintenance, and drug screening activities. Key Responsibilities Perform daily insect/ectoparasite rearing and husbandry activities.Support parasitology research through reagent preparation, cleaning, stocking, and assay activities.Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and maintenance schedules.Receive, store, and dispose of laboratory materials according to procedures.Work independently while following safety, regulatory, and Good Scientific Practice standards.Learn and operate basic laboratory automation equipment and software. Requirements College coursework in Biology or equivalent. MS or PhD candidates will not be considered.2+ years of laboratory experience in a research or academic setting.1+ year of experience maintaining insect or ectoparasite colonies in a vivarium/insectary.Experience with aseptic technique.Strong attention to detail, reliability, communication, and teamwork.Fluency in English.
