Responsibilities

Will work within the goals and objectives established by the departmental management team to provide quality customer service and courier service to patients served by Olympic Medical Center Laboratory. Responsible for outpatient registration, test ordering, processing of outpatient laboratory specimens, hospital and outpatient phlebotomy, answering customer service calls, providing efficient courier services, and other customer service responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Efficient keyboarding skills and experience with Lab and Hospital information systems is desirable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• When assigned phlebotomist duties: Washington State Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification licensure filed with WA State DOH after completion of OMC phlebotomy training within 90 days of hire, required.
• When assigned courier duties: Valid Washington driver’s license required; driving record in compliance with OMC standards currently in effect or as may be amended, required.

Pay

FTE 100%; Variable pay range $22.79 – $34.24 per hour.

• Shift differentials: Evening – $3.00/hour; Night – $5.00/hour; Weekend – $4.50/hour; Pharm Night – $8.50/hour.
• Premiums: Standby – $4.00/hour; Lead – $3.25/hour; Per Diem – 15% (on base, in lieu of benefits); Certification – $2.00/hour; Trainer – $2.00/hour; Student Coordinator – $2.00/hour (2+ = $3.25/hour).
• Weekend & Holiday shifts: Yes; On‑call shifts: No.

Schedule

Work shift is variable; includes evening, night, weekend, and pharmacy night shifts with applicable differentials as noted above.
