Laboratory Assistant

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Laboratory Assistant at Medical City Las Colinas receives and processes specimens and carries out basic laboratory procedures. They also perform clerical tasks such as greeting patients, informing them of procedures, answering phones and emails, and maintaining records.

What You Will Do In This Role

• Obtains lab samples by various means including venipuncture
• Checks and maintains supplies for work assignments
• Responsible for excellent customer service through various duties including answering telephone calls, charting patient results, and other duties as needed
• Serves infant to geriatric patient populations

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required
• High school students will be considered provided they are enrolled in a Health Occupations Vocation Program (HOSA/HOE)
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred
