Laboratory Assistant
Responsibilities
- Follow and adhere to all Corporate Standard Operating Procedures and Corporate Compliance Program.
- Follow all safety, HIPAA, regulatory requirements.
- Able to perform all testing per Standard Operating Procedures.
- Use problem solving skills to improve the laboratory processes.
- Document, organize, and maintain accurate records and storage of samples for easy retrieval.
- Maintain constant communication with laboratory personnel regarding sample receiving or laboratory issues.
- Assist in the pre-analytical stage of the sample preparation process for all the different testing types.
- Absorb and perform all delegated tasks in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in weekly meetings to discuss clinical testing operation, process improvements, internal projects, and any other relevant topics of interest.
- Prepare the laboratory for inspections and audits to ensure compliance with accrediting agencies such as CLIA, CAP, OSHA, Department of Health, State, etc.
Requirements
- Experienced in laboratory procedures.

- Ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and email.

- Safety risks when doing analysis.
- Exposure to disease or infections on a daily basis.
- Exposure to some adverse and undesirable environmental conditions.
- Work requires prolonged standing and intense visual concentration when testing and analysis.
- Ranges from sitting for extended periods of time to standing/moving throughout the area all day.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
