Laboratory Assistant
About the role
As our Lab Assistant, you will help our medical team solve mysteries regarding patient health by collecting, preparing, and examining laboratory specimens so they can successfully treat illness and injury. Every day you will collect, prepare, and analyze patient fluid or tissue samples while maintaining impeccable records, performing routine quality control checks, keeping your lab area clean, and upholding strict patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities
- Collect or receive samples of fluids or tissues.
- Determine if the quality and quantity are sufficient for testing.
- Use lab equipment or chemicals to prepare samples for testing.
- Perform required tests on samples.
- Keep accurate records of all procedures and results.
- Label specimens appropriately and send them to other departments as needed.
- Clean and maintain lab equipment and the lab area throughout each shift.
- Run periodic quality control procedures on equipment under supervisor’s guidance.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and collaboration with colleagues to create a productive lab environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
Pay
$21.96 - $31.01 per hour.
