Laboratory Analyst I

About the Role

Qualified applicants will perform laboratory testing with emphasis on Petrophysical Work, Rock Mechanics, and/or Flow Studies. The role requires familiarity with and ability to utilize laboratory instruments effectively, interpret scientific data, perform mathematical and scientific computations, maintain laboratory notebooks, and ensure accuracy in a laboratory environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Record operating data from laboratory equipment including flow pumps, pressure transducers and gauges, scales and balances, resistivity monitors, and basic laboratory glassware.
• Work independently on projects while maintaining a team atmosphere with other technicians.
• Communicate data and results with supervisors and clients in a clear manner.
• Research the formation, dissolution, and content of rock layers.
• Perform administrative duties related to project management including software management, sample management, and technical report writing.
• Overtime work and various shifts may be required to meet business and customer needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related science is preferred.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools to develop laboratory testing systems designed for simulating reservoir behaviors.
• Strong emphasis on logical and mechanical reasoning in a laboratory environment.

Skills

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
