Laboratory Analyst 1
About The Role
The Analyst will be responsible for analyzing samples using manual and more complex instrumental techniques in accordance with prescribed methods and standard operating procedures. Perform all duties associated with sample analysis of more complex laboratory tests. Analyze, interpret and review sample results, as well as peer review of other data. Perform all quality control requirements associated with the methods and maintain appropriate records. Perform all work within established quality control parameters and within specified turnaround times. Record bench level observations and keep records in bound and electronic notebooks. Troubleshoot and fix instrument malfunctions. Maintain safe working conditions and a clean, orderly work area at all times. Exercise laboratory safety practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related science is preferred.
- ICPMS/ICP-AES/ICP-OES experience strongly preferred.
- 1-5 years of analytical laboratory experience preferred.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to initiate corrective action without prompting and assist co-workers whenever necessary in order to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to effectively perform duties under pressures arising from large sample volumes and short turn-around times.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to use (or learn to use) Laboratory Information Management System.
