Job Summary and Qualifications
The Labor Relations Manager assists management in achieving organizational goals by providing advice and managing various labor relations matters.
Major Responsibilities
- Advise about and manage matters of routine labor relations such as the interpretation and application of collective bargaining agreements; the processing of formal grievances and the arbitration of such grievances; communications with labor unions relating to other disputes and questions that arise between unions and management; responses to union information requests; discipline of bargaining unit members; and compliance with applicable labor laws
- Advises about and manages the response to union organizing
- Aids in the preparation for, and the conduct of, collective bargaining
- Advises about and manages the preparation for, and the response to, strikes, picketing and other job actions by unions
- Prepares and presents appropriate training for facility management on a variety of labor relations topics
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree in industrial relations or a related discipline preferred
- 5+ years of experience in relevant work experience required
