Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on laboratory systems and equipment (e.g., gas systems, laser cutters, filtration units, abatement systems, gloveboxes, 3D printers)
- Maintain and support critical gas systems, including gas cabinets and distribution systems
- Monitor and troubleshoot system issues and execute repairs to minimize downtime and restore operations quickly
- Track and maintain accurate logs, including gas consumption and equipment inspection records
- Execute preventive maintenance and assist with system upgrades and operational improvements
- Inspect incoming gas cylinders to ensure compliance with specifications; reject non-conforming materials
- Handle compressed gas cylinders safely and in accordance with established procedures
- Support inventory management and restocking of lab consumables
- Execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist with Method of Procedure (MOP) implementation
- Support system shutdowns/startups for gas and chemical systems
- Aid in light lab setup, furniture moves, and workspace organization
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe laboratory environments
- Respond to service requests promptly and professionally
- Collaborate with technicians, engineers, vendors, and cross-functional teams
- Participate in audits of lab spaces, systems, and safety equipment
- Identify potential system issues and help prioritize corrective actions
- Follow all emergency procedures and maintain composure in high-pressure situations
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience as a Lab Service Technician or in a related technical field
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Hands-on experience maintaining or repairing technical equipment
- Familiarity with working alongside vendors and supporting service quality
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-demand settings
- Effective communication skills—both written and verbal
- Proficiency using testing and diagnostic equipment, such as: Multimeters (analog/digital), Pressure and temperature devices, Airflow and particle measurement tools, Leak detection equipment
- Knowledge of basic hand tools and safe usage practices
- Understanding and consistent adherence to SOPs and safety procedures
- Ability to properly use and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Calm, professional demeanor when responding to emergencies

Pay
The minimum salary for the LabOps Technician position is $28 per hour and the maximum salary for the LabOps Technician position is $34 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
