Thrill Jockey Label Intern: Chicago, IL (On-site) ABOUT THRILL JOCKEY Thrill Jockey Records is an independent record label based in Chicago and established in 1992 by Bettina Richards. Artists who have recorded on the label include Future Islands, Tortoise, The Sea and Cake, Trans Am, Mouse on Mars, claire rousay, Rose City Band, Chicago Underground Duo, SUMAC, The Body, Sam Prekop, Matmos, The Fiery Furnaces and more. Thrill Jockey is independently owned and operated, practicing a 50/50 profit share with its artists ABOUT THE INTERNSHIPInternships are unpaid & can be completed for college creditIntern hours are flexible between 11 am - 6 pm on business days for the spring term (January - May)Interns should be able to commit to either 1 full day (11 am - 6 pm) OR half a day (11 am - 3 pm / 2 pm - 6 pm).The internship will focus on assembly & stock management. This helps interns gain familiarity with Thrill Jockey’s catalog & general working flow. Interning at Thrill Jockey will allow interns to gain real world experience at an esteemed record label.In addition to credit, interns will receive 1 promo CD at the completion of each work day. Additonal perks may include promo items and admission for shows of Thrill Jockey artists.INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTSIntern must be based in Chicago.Intern must be able to stand on their feet for a full day of work.Able to commit to one day per week for the duration of the internship on a consistent schedule. Any days off or changes to that schedule should be discussed in advance. Passionate about music and the Thrill Jockey roster.Strong overall knowledge of the music industry.Prior music industry experience is preferred but not required.
