LAB TRANSPORTER, WDL; CASUAL - 1ST SHIFT

Responsibilities

• Regularly picks up and/or delivers specimens, slides, and lab slips from all designated locations on the Medical College of WI, Froedtert Hospital, and Children’s Hospital campus, and delivers them to and/or from the Laboratory for analysis, following the pre-determined schedule.
• Promptly picks up blood products from Blood Bank/Transfusion Services when requested, delivering them efficiently to the correct areas of the Hospital on a STAT basis.
• On a daily basis picks up and sorts Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratories' intercampus mail and patient reports.
• Performs frequent deliveries to the Froedtert mailroom, various clinics, and the medical records department in a timely manner.
• Regularly fills and delivers routine and special material supply requests throughout the hospital.
• On an as-needed basis, provides occasional support in the Pathology materials archives (‘File Room’) including filing, pulling, cleaning or preparing of materials for shipping.
• Aids in maintaining the materials archives in good order within the scope of assigned duties.
• On an as-needed basis, aids the Anatomic Pathology administrative group with the filing, pulling, receiving or preparation for transport/shipping of materials and files.
• On an as-needed basis, aids the supply room with preparation of various kits for WDL customers.
• May assist in providing training as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
