About the Role
The Lab Technician supports laboratory operations by preparing and organizing patient tissue samples, assisting with data entry, and maintaining lab records. They ensure compliance with safety protocols, handle biohazard materials appropriately, and monitor supplies and expiration dates.
Responsibilities
- Receiving and labeling specimens
- Assisting with electronic medical record entry
- Maintaining slide and block storage
- Filtering formalin
- Disposing of biohazard waste
- Monitoring supply usage
- Performing general lab maintenance
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior pathology lab experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and E-Systems
- Attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Reliable attendance
Work Environment
Exposure to biohazards in a clinical setting, requiring physical activity such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
