About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to support laboratory, R&D, prototyping, and scale-up activities in a structured technical environment. This opportunity is well suited for an early-career scientist with a background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Biology, or a related discipline who enjoys hands-on laboratory work. The Lab Technician will perform laboratory preparation, membrane processing, sample characterization, data analysis, and documentation while working closely with R&D and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, comfortable handling chemicals, highly attentive to detail, and able to follow established procedures while learning new laboratory techniques and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare buffers, reagents, and test solutions according to established procedures.
  • Perform membrane mix preparation, membrane casting, and post-processing activities.
  • Conduct sample characterization using a variety of laboratory analytical equipment.
  • Support pilot, prototyping, and scale-up manufacturing runs.
  • Perform general laboratory techniques including:
    • Filtration
    • Glassware washing
    • Micropipetting and pipetting
    • Reagent preparation
    • Weighing and measurement
  • Handle laboratory chemicals safely and according to established procedures.
  • Operate laboratory equipment safely and accurately.
  • Organize experimental data, perform basic data analysis, and summarize findings in reports.
  • Clearly communicate project and task progress, results, observations, and issues both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain complete and accurate laboratory notebooks, labels, inventory records, and other required documentation.
  • Assist R&D management and technical staff with planning, scheduling, and tracking task progress.
  • Work closely with R&D, technical, and cross-functional teams to support project objectives.
  • Apply quality concepts and tools during daily laboratory activities.
  • Follow GMP requirements, written procedures, and established laboratory practices.
  • Lead or support laboratory maintenance activities to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science & Engineering, Biology, or a related scientific/technical discipline.
  • 0–1 years of relevant professional or laboratory experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of general laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Experience with pipetting, reagent preparation, weighing, filtration, and laboratory glassware.
  • Ability to safely operate laboratory equipment and follow detailed written procedures.
  • Basic to intermediate data analysis capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and cross-functional groups.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle laboratory chemicals safely.
  • No known chemical allergies or sensitivities that would prevent performance of the required laboratory duties.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with membrane preparation, casting, or polymer processing.
  • Exposure to R&D, prototyping, pilot-scale, or manufacturing laboratory environments.
  • Experience with analytical laboratory equipment and sample characterization.
  • Familiarity with GMP requirements and quality systems.
  • Experience working with chemical formulations, buffers, or test solutions.
  • Experience organizing experimental data and preparing technical reports.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new laboratory techniques quickly.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift or move materials weighing approximately 10 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to perform hands-on laboratory activities for extended periods.
  • Ability to work safely with chemicals and laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
