Lab Technician - Night Shift

Cumberland Dairy, a farmer-owned brand of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), produces millions of gallons of ultra-pasteurized, refrigerated, extended shelf-life dairy products annually. About the role

We are seeking a Lab Technician to perform microbiological and chemical testing of finished products, raw materials, and associated items while adhering to food safety and quality system requirements. This role involves maintaining standard operating procedures, utilizing a continuous improvement mindset, and identifying opportunities to enhance processes. The position supports regulatory, customer, and SQF requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological and chemical testing of finished products and raw materials.
• Maintain and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Support food safety and quality system requirements, including regulatory, customer, and SQF standards.
• Identify and assist in implementing process improvements.
• Flavor milk-based, sugar-based, and caffeine-based products.
• Work in a wet environment and handle occasional chemical exposure.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in a science field or 1-2 years of related experience (Biological Science degree preferred).
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including drug, background, and criminal checks.
• Proficiency in basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for the majority of the shift.
• Capability to lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally including overhead lifting.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Pay

$24.00 per hour.

Schedule

• 10-hour shifts (night shift).
