About the role
As our Lab Technician Intern, you will assist with preparation of samples and residue analysis for Citrus products. You will report to the Laboratory Supervisor and assist with a variety of procedures that include handling chemicals and testing products. This internship is based in Riverside, CA and is expected to run through May-June.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently prepare and extract residue samples, ensuring readiness for accurate and timely analysis.
- Conduct residue analyses with precision, adhering to established protocols.
- Maintain and stock reagents, ensuring their quality and integrity are preserved.
- Keep the laboratory clean and organized, ensuring an efficient working environment.
- Regularly check and maintain lab equipment, promptly reporting any issues to supervisors for resolution.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Pursuing or holding an Associate/Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.
- Experience in a chemistry lab through classwork or job is mandatory.
- Basic laboratory experience is required.
- Comfortable working with chemicals.
- Able to read and understand Chemical SDS’s.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in various conditions, including indoor/outdoor weather, moving industrial machinery, chemicals and fumes, noisy or dusty environments.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, squat and step up/down for various amounts of time and paces.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Capability to lift, push, pull and move materials, typically up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling equipment and performing tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Pay
The estimated hourly range for this role is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
