Lab Technician (Entry)

About the role

The ideal individual will support daily activities in the laboratory by leading general operations, housekeeping, orderliness, and cleanliness of the workspace.

Responsibilities

• Receive and label incoming samples
• Maintain and receive sufficient labware inventory
• Prepare buffers and reagents
• Troubleshoot and operate equipment needed for genotyping production
• Review and archive task-related documents
• Understand and follow Employee Safety and Health (ESH) guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and workflow guidelines
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Manage multiple tasks and work effectively with more than one supervisor
• Interface with other functions such as manufacturing and research personnel

Qualifications

• Experience in laboratory operations or related setting
• Ability to lead general operations and maintain workspace orderliness
• Familiarity with sample handling, inventory management, and buffer/reagent preparation
• Ability to troubleshoot and operate genotyping production equipment
• Strong organizational skills for document review and archiving
• Knowledge of ESH guidelines and SOPs
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with multiple supervisors
• Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with manufacturing and research teams

Pay

$19–21/hr depending on experience
