Lab Technician - Bioanalytical Scientist
Contract duration: 12 months (possible extension based on performance and business needs).
About the role
The Bioanalytical group is seeking an experienced Bioanalytical Scientist/Lab Technician to perform routine and non-routine analysis as well as formulation work. The ideal candidate will have experience with various bioanalytical and physical tests, including SEC, CEX, HIC, RP-HPLC, Karl Fischer, UV, IR, fluorescence spectroscopy, visual evaluations, pH, viscosity, density, and visible/sub-visible particle testing. Experience analyzing and interpreting bioanalytical data and collaborating with project teams is a plus. This position supports scientists with day-to-day laboratory operations while developing technical skills over time.
Responsibilities
- Work with project leads on projects of varying complexity, including routine and non-routine analysis, and generate reliable and consistent results.
- Support multiple scientists across various laboratory projects.
- Prepare laboratory solutions and reagents.
- Perform routine laboratory support activities, including general lab maintenance, upkeep, glassware cleaning, laboratory organization, inventory management, and ordering supplies.
- Perform routine wet chemistry testing, protein concentration testing, particle size analysis, and other biologics analytical testing.
- Perform formulation work within the group.
- Perform routine testing and document experiments using an electronic laboratory notebook (eLN).
- Troubleshoot experiments and laboratory instrumentation.
- Learn and understand new experimental techniques.
- Perform HPLC/chromatography work as assigned.
- Analyze and interpret bioanalytical data.
- Follow, understand, and comply with SOPs, cGMP requirements, safety procedures, and applicable policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- 0–5 years of laboratory experience (internship, undergraduate research, or academic lab experience is acceptable).
- Hands-on laboratory experience and technical aptitude.
Skills
- General science background (Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology).
- General laboratory skills (pipetting, solution preparation, sampling, weighing, pH measurement).
- Bioanalytical methods: HPLC (SEC, CEX, HIC, RP-HPLC), Empower Chromatography Software.
- Protein concentration testing and particle size analysis.
- Biologics/large molecule analytical testing.
- Karl Fischer, UV, IR, and fluorescence spectroscopy.
- Wet chemistry techniques and visual evaluation (color & clarity).
- pH, viscosity, and density testing.
- Electronic Laboratory Notebook (eLN) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- SOP and cGMP compliance.
- MS Excel and basic computer skills.
- Laboratory maintenance, inventory management, and instrument troubleshooting.
- Data analysis and interpretation.
- Cross-functional team collaboration.
- Force tester, Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (MS).
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day, 100% onsite.
- Flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
Pay
$25.00 – $28.00 per hour.
