Responsibilities
- Prepare chemical mixes and concentrations according to written procedures and specifications.
- Convert units, weigh materials accurately, and ensure precise measurement of components.
- Measure and record pH and viscosity values for various materials and products.
- Check battery voltages and perform pulse testing to evaluate performance and quality.
- Handle and work with silicone oil and related materials safely and efficiently.
- Inspect and check probes to confirm proper function and performance.
- Place products in environmental chambers to conduct controlled condition testing.
- Search for and identify potential leakages in products or systems using appropriate test methods.
- Complete detailed reporting and documentation of test procedures, results, and observations.
- Follow written laboratory procedures and protocols consistently to maintain quality standards.
- Provide input on existing procedures and assist in writing and editing documentation for product development.
- Collaborate with team members in the lab to support ongoing projects and meet testing timelines.
- Adhere to quality assurance and quality control practices to ensure reliable and repeatable results.
Requirements
- Foundational knowledge of chemistry and laboratory practices.
- Experience or education related to laboratory work, quality assurance, or quality control.
- Ability to prepare chemical mixes and concentrations with precision.
- Competence in converting units and accurately weighing materials.
- Ability to measure and interpret pH and viscosity.
- Skill in checking voltages of batteries and performing pulse testing.
- Experience working with materials such as silicone oil.
- Ability to inspect and verify proper function of probes.
- Familiarity with using environmental chambers for product testing.
- Strong attention to detail for searching and identifying leakages.
- Proficiency in reporting and documentation of laboratory activities.
- Able to follow written procedures accurately while maintaining consistency and quality.
- Willingness to work the first shift and remain open to occasional Saturday work when needed.
Qualifications
- Degree or coursework in chemistry, laboratory science, or a related field is beneficial.
- Experience in quality assurance or quality control environments is advantageous.
- Comfort contributing to the writing and editing of procedures and documentation.
- Interest in career growth with potential to move into a supervisory role.
