Lab Technician
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Lab Technician to support quality control operations and help drive site performance across safety, environmental compliance, quality, and production targets. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with cGMP/GLP standards while supporting laboratory operations, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality control testing in accordance with cGMP and GLP standards
- Support CDL standardization efforts and participate in safety inspections
- Provide coverage for lab-ware operations during team absences
- Maintain inventory of chemicals and materials for media preparation and flask inoculation
- Manage and ensure compliance with ISO procedures, including resolving non-conformities
- Conduct routine inspections and safety walk-throughs
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement enhancements
- Care for and ensure compliance with ISO procedures, including resolving non-conformities
- Coordinate maintenance and calibration of lab equipment and computer systems
- Assist with training initiatives and enforce adherence to SOPs (CDL/SBP)
- Support the Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) management system
Requirements
- Foundational knowledge of Chemistry, Biology, and laboratory practices
- Understanding of GMP and GLP regulations
- Basic math skills and proficiency in reading and writing English
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Email)
Qualifications
- College-level coursework in Microbiology and/or Chemistry
- Experience using laboratory equipment such as: Brightfield microscopes, pH meters, centrifuges, YSI analyzers, analytical balances and refractometers
- Aseptic techniques and contamination control
- Frozen culture preparation
- Autoclave operation

Pay
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
Schedule
Shift Information: 5:30am- 2:00pm Friday-Tuesday
Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
