Lab Technician - 2nd Shift (3:00 pm – 11:00 pm, M-F)

About the role

Performs basic laboratory functions to test for compliance with internal and customer specifications with competence and minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic assigned tasks in a prioritized, logical, and timely manner in accordance with company laboratory and safety procedures.
• Tests and records manufactured product or raw materials for compliance with internal and customer specifications.
• Performs additional testing or inspection as specified by department leaders.
• Once trained, is able to perform all core functions/testing required by this position.
• Handles non-routine tasks as they arise.
• Collects and packages samples as needed for testing.
• Performs investigations and conducts required testing on customer complaints.
• Enters test data and conditions into quality systems and manufacturing software.
• Specifies and records adjustments, when applicable, to any material that does not meet requirements.
• Dispositions material; can approve or reject manufactured product.
• Performs all calibration or verification of calibration procedures for raw materials as needed.
• Maintains housekeeping 6S standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency. An Associate’s degree in a technical field is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and cross-functional teams.
• One year of manufacturing experience required.
• Capable of performing basic arithmetic and calculations using given formulas.
• Able to read and write in English.
• Basic computer and data entry skills; familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to help others.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and wear required PPE.
• Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
• Ability to distinguish between color shades and detect minor color variations.

Schedule

2nd Shift: 3 pm – 11 pm, Monday through Friday. For training purposes, the associate will need to be available to work Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3 pm for up to 4 weeks prior to moving to 2nd shift (as deemed necessary by the Lab Manager).
