About the role
Our client is a leading global consumer business committed to innovation, quality, and sustainability. With a focus on research and development, we strive to create innovative products that meet the evolving needs of consumers worldwide. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented R&D Applied Product Testing & Development Technician to support product development, product improvement initiatives, competitive assessments, and innovation programs across the Home Cleaning portfolio. This role is heavily focused on hands-on laboratory and testing activities.
Responsibilities
- Execute laboratory testing across multiple home cleaning categories, including:
- Glass cleaning performance, streaking, and filming evaluations
- Fabric staining, laundering, and stain removal assessments
- Hard surface cleaning and soil removal testing
- Competitive benchmarking and performance comparisons
- Prepare laboratory samples and formulations by following established procedures and standard operating practices.
- Create and apply laboratory soils/stains and substrates for performance testing.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
- Collect, document, and organize experimental data with high accuracy and consistency.
- Perform basic data analysis, identify trends, and communicate results to project teams.
- Support product development, renovation, and innovation programs through timely execution of testing plans.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and workspace in compliance with company standards.
- Adhere to all safety, chemical handling, and environmental procedures.
- Collaborate with scientists, formulators, and cross-functional partners to ensure project alignment and delivery.
Requirements
- High School Diploma with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Skills
- Strong lab experience, including working with laboratory equipment, analytical instruments, or technical testing while maintaining high safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and standardized procedures consistently while ensuring data quality and accuracy.
- Self-starter with strong organizational, prioritization, and documentation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills within cross-technical teams (e.g., packaging engineers, R&D team members).
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new lab procedures and test methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering Technology, Food Science, Material Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Basic data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining a high level of quality and precision.
