Lab Tech, Norton Cancer Institute - Jeffersonville, Days

Responsibilities

• Independently performs, interprets, and correlates clinical laboratory tests to assist physician diagnosis and treatment.
• Performs specimen processing and testing according to policies and procedures.
• Makes vital signs measurements, including pain score, height, and weight, and updates patient medical records.
• Prepares patients for exams and manages clinic area flow, keeping patients informed.
• Cleans rooms, chairs, and equipment between patients.
• Performs phlebotomy.
• Documents patient results in medical record and result entry for PT/INR tests.
• Orders and stocks supplies in exam, treatment, lab, and nourishment areas, ensuring proper rotation for use before expiration dates.
• Aids in Quality Control/Performance Improvement (QC/PI) data collection, evaluation, and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
