About the Role
The Lab Tech 3 performs phlebotomy, specimen processing, testing, and clerical support. Responsibilities include collecting specimens, communicating with patients and healthcare personnel, and maintaining laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
- Conducts advanced laboratory procedures with limited range of possible errors.
- Sorts, labels, and records patient specimens.
- Prepares specimens, materials, and equipment for testing by Medical Technologists.
- Operates laboratory equipment (centrifuge, simplex timers, cell washer, etc.).
- Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
- Communicates effectively with laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
- Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- National phlebotomy certification (preferred: 4+ years of hospital phlebotomy experience).
