Lab-Tech II (Evening Shift)

Evening shift technologist position with required work every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays.

About the Role

Collects samples, analyzes specimens, performs quality control, maintains instruments, troubleshoots issues, reports results, and assists with clerical functions. This role supports interdepartmental activities to enhance patient care and requires accurate color perception, excellent customer service, and variable work hours including weekend/holiday rotation across all shifts. Must be available by phone for backup coverage.

Responsibilities

• Accurately produce test results and evaluate variances.
• Exercise consistent, independent judgement under fluctuating workload pressure.
• Perform instrument maintenance, calibration, and quality control.
• Monitor specimen tracker and review overdue specimens per shift.
• Communicate technical information clearly, both in person and by phone.
• Maintain integrity, good judgement, and physical/emotional well-being.

Qualifications

• Preferred certification: ASCP-CPT or MLT.
• Strong detail orientation to ensure task accuracy.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
