About the role
The Laboratory Technician role is responsible for performing all laboratory analyses, instrument maintenance and calibrations, maintaining consumable inventory and sample retain storage. The Laboratory Technician role also performs basic functions in the DCS system and performs SAP transactional functions. The Laboratory Technician works effectively in a team environment with frequent interactions with Packaging Technicians, Blenders and Management.
Responsibilities
- Perform all required laboratory testing.
- Complete all associated SAP transactional functions in an accurate and timely basis.
- Maintain lab equipment, calibrate, and troubleshoot.
- Calculate adjustments and reuse percentages.
- Input data accurately into the DCS blending system.
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
Requirements
- 2 years minimum in a laboratory environment.
- Experience running typical lab equipment and some advanced lab equipment associated with non-aqueous testing.
- Safety oriented.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills, including the ability to function effectively in a team environment. Interactions may include direct involvement or contact with external customers.
