Lab Support Technician II

About the role

The Laboratory Support Technician (LST II) is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for reports, data and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with Mercy Signature Service Standards in all customer interactions.
• Skillfully acquire all required types of specimens for laboratory testing using safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies.
• Observe HIPAA confidentiality requirements and laboratory policies.
• Perform duties consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.
• Support reports, data, and scheduling functions of the laboratory.
• Ensure accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience, or successful completion of a clinical training program.

Skills

• Customer service excellence.
