Lab Support Specialist

About the Role

Assist and perform a wide range of order and supplies fulfillment, accounting/inventory data through the use of spreadsheets and mapping. Maintain and record maintenance contracts to support lab machinery. Handle shipping/receiving, phones, and general lab duties.

Responsibilities

• Work in a laboratory environment that may contain chemical odors.
• Perform assigned duties according to current HSE laboratory safety standards.
• Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations while performing assigned duties.
• Answer phones.
• Maintain multiple spreadsheets/databases for accounting, mapping, and service contracts.
• Inventory and order laboratory supplies.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws.
• Adherence to company policies, including the Drug and Alcohol policy, with agreement to submit to random drug testing.

• Computer Skills: Strong background in MS Office applications.
• Customer Service Skills: Meet internal and external commitments, respond promptly to customer needs, and solicit feedback to improve service.
• Work Ethic: Dependable, trustworthy, truthful, and credible. Display a sincere desire to provide service or assistance, follow instructions, and take responsibility for own actions. Commitment to doing the best job possible.
• Physical Abilities: Lift and carry 50 pounds in various packaging.
• Other Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Safety glasses, goggles, etc.
  • Vision: Near, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception.
  • Sense of Sound: Ability to hear at 55 decibels (adult conversation level).
  • Sense of Smell: Ability to detect odors.
