About the role

The Lab Point of Care Coordinator supports point of care testing across multiple laboratory and clinic locations. This position involves providing technical resources and daily direction to staff regarding laboratory policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Works with nursing, physicians, employees, and management to ensure efficient and effective point of care testing.
  • Timely reporting, read back, and documentation of critical tests and results.
  • Implementation of point of care devices, instruments, and processes.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots, and takes corrective action with equipment as needed.
  • Develops, evaluates, and revises all processes or procedures; collects and analyzes data promptly.
  • Completes monthly workload and Quality Assurance and Quality Control reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Biology/Chemistry/Microbiology (preferred).
  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Biology/Chemistry/Microbiology (required).
  • 4 years of lab tech experience (required).
  • Medical Lab Technologist (MLT) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) certification by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) required.
