Lab Manager – Core Laboratory – Perrysburg Medical Center

About the role

Mercy Health seeks a Lab Manager to oversee laboratory services at Perrysburg Medical Center. This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, Medical Lab Scientist certification, and 5 years of experience in a laboratory tech setting, with prior leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Improves laboratory operations and establishes objectives related to quality metrics
• Maintains compliance by monitoring quality indicators and submitting monthly reports
• Hires, staffs, schedules, and onboards new employees
• Evaluates performance of department staff and completes performance assessments
• Serves as a facilitator for regional laboratory committees and coordinates project activities
• Monitors laboratory expenses to meet budgetary goals and collaborates with management on capital replacement and acquisition plans

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry
• Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) or ASCP Certification
• 5 years of experience in a laboratory tech setting
• Previous experience in a leadership position in a laboratory tech environment
