Responsibilities

  • Oversee departmental operations of the Laboratory under the direction of the Director.
  • Perform administrative duties including oversight and compliance of point of care testing and affiliated offsite areas.
  • Monitor operations to ensure safe, efficient, and quality performance standards for employees, patients, and visitors.
  • Collaborate with nursing, administrative, medical, and other staff to coordinate patient care activities, support the facility’s mission statement, achieve customer satisfaction, and identify system problems as opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field (Required).
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Health Administration (Preferred).
  • 5 years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years with supervisory responsibilities, preferably in an acute care hospital setting (Required).
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for (Required).

Qualifications

  • Management of Clinical Laboratory only: Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists), or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts). AAB provisional certification not accepted (Required).
  • Management of Anatomic Pathology (Cytology/Histology): Certification in histology; certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT, and/or Cytologist CT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) (Required).
